Union Park with banner.jpg

Union Park's neighborhoods are known for their connectedness. Making an effort to get to know your neighbors will increase the safety of your block. Participating in -- or hosting -- a block party on National Night Out, on the first Tuesday of August, is a great way to start.

 BARRICADE RENTAL

Union Park has street barricades that community members can use for block parties, neighborhood, or family events. The street barricades are required by the city when you block off your street or alley -- but ours are a more-affordable option than getting them from Public Works. Barricades only cost $40 and also require a $80 deposit which you will get back after returning the barricades. Reservations are first-come, first-served. To borrow our barricades, you must have an event permit from the city. To reserve this equipment, download and return this reservation form to info@unionparkdc.org

BLOCK PARTY TENT RENTAL

Union Park has a 10x20 tent that the community can rent for block parties, neighborhood or family events. The tent rental costs $80 and also requires a $100 deposit which you will get back after returning the tent undamaged. Reservations are first-come, first-serve. To reserve this equipment, download and return this reservation form to info@unionparkdc.org.

RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING PROGRAM

The City of Saint Paul partners with zero-waste non profit Eureka Recycling to provide weekly recycling service to all Saint Paul households. New residents do not need to set up service - simply place your blue recycling cart out for collection by 6:00 am on your collection day. To see Eureka Recycling's schedule in your area or if you'd like to know what items are acceptable, check out Eureka Recycling App.

For more information or to report a missed pick up, contact Eureka Recycling at 651-222-7678 or info@eurekarecycling.org or go to the St. Paul recycling website

Saint Paul is running the Recycle Smart campaign to raise awareness about the importance of recycling the right things. The campaign will focus on important items to keep out of your recycling cart, such as plastic bags, large plastic items, and random metal items.

APARTMENT RECYCLING

The City of Saint Paul requires that all tenants of apartment buildings are given the opportunity to recycle. Whether you're a tenant, apartment owner, or apartment manager, you can find program details and resources to make recycling at your apartment building go smoothly.

DISPOSING OF OTHER ITEMS

The city partners with local district councils to organize annual Citywide Drop-Off Events for residents to properly dispose of large refuse items and recyclable materials not collected via the residential recycling program.

If you can't wait for a Citywide Drop-Off Event, you can call the Ramsey County solid waste & Recycling hotline 24/7 at 651-633-EASY (3279) or visit RamseyRecycles.com to learn how to dispose of bulky or hard-to-recycle items.

COME CLEAN PROGRAMS

To help address the ongoing problem of trash and litter in our community, the city is encouraging community members to help clean, beautify, and improve their neighborhoods.

You supply the time, energy and enthusiasm and the City will supply the trash bags, and gloves. Union Park takes advantage of this program by hosting neighborhood Clean ups twice annually, If you'd like to get involded reach out to us at info@unionparkdc.org. For more information check out the the City's Come Clean Website.

COMPOSTING

The nearest composting site run by Ramsey County is at 1943 Pierce Butler Route, St. Paul, MN 55114. The site takes both compostable yard waste and kitchen organics.

Union Park residents can also dispose of household organics at the Macalester-Groveland Organics Recycling Drop-Off Site.

RECYCLING/COMPOST CONTAINERS

We have 3 compost containers and 4 recycling containers that Union Park community members can reserve free of charge. Please email info@unionparkdc.org if you are interested in reserving any combination of these containers.
